Craftsmanship

Made by hand, made to be kept.

In the Atelier

Every Vanterre piece starts as solid timber, chosen one board at a time for its grain and its quirks. From there it passes through the hands of joiners who work slowly and refuse to fake anything.

Drawers are cut to glide a decade from now exactly as they do today. Surfaces are oiled by hand so they grow richer with use. Because each piece is built to order, it carries the small, honest marks of the person who made it — and that is rather the point.

01

Solid timber

Selected board by board for grain and character. Nothing is veneered over, nothing is hidden.

02

Traditional joinery

Mortise and tenon, dovetail, glued and pegged. The way the best have always built things meant to last.

03

Hand-finished

Hand-rubbed oils that deepen with the years rather than wear away. A finish that ages well, on purpose.
